Bihar: An overhead wire near the home signal snapped and fell. On being informed about the mishap, police along with fire personnel reached the spot and initiated rescue operation.
A train derailed on the Grand Chord section of East Central Railway in Bihar's Gaya district on Sunday. The overhead wire snapped near the home signal of Manpur Junction on the up line of this section. The Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express and the Ranchi-Patna Janshatabdi Express, which were running behind it, were stopped at the stations ahead of it as a precautionary measure.
It took nearly two hours to repair the broken wire, causing a lot of inconvenience to the passengers of Vande Bharat and Janshatabdi Express.

He immediately informed the control room. Later, police along with other rescue teams reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident. The repair work was completed around 9:00 am and the operation was normal.
Earlier, Vande Bharat Express and Janshatabdi Express were stopped at Gurpa railway station and Janshatabdi Express near Tankupa railway station, railway sources said. As a result, passengers travelling on the train were inconvenienced.
Railway officials said that due to a sudden wire break near Manpur home signal, the operation on this section was disrupted for about two hours. The work was started after the repair work. Railway officials heaved a sigh of relief as the train resumed its journey.
