Latur : A laboratory assistant was caught red-handed by the Latur ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs.400 for issuing a school leaving certificate for the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme announced by the Maharashtra government. The incident took place at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Secondary and Higher Secondary School, Togri.

The 24-year-old man has filed a complaint at the Latur ACB office. The complainant's sister was a student of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Secondary and Higher Secondary School, Togari, for classes XI and XII in 2012-13. He studied in Udgir. She got married in the year 2013. My mother-in-law lives in Gangakhed G. Parbhani.

Since the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahini' scheme announced by the Maharashtra government required the complainant's sister to have her school leaving certificate, the request for obtaining her school leaving certificate was made by the complainant (the student's half-brother) on July 8, 2024, at the school office.

The complainant said. When asked when he would go to the school on July 12 and get his sister's school leaving certificate, the accused Birajdar said he would come with Rs 400 and take the certificate. The complainant, with the consent of her sister, submitted a written complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Latur. A search operation was conducted.

When the team verified the bribe demand before the government panch on Tuesday, the accused Birajdar agreed to accept the bribe demand of Rs 400 from the complainant. A case has been registered against the accused in the police station.

This action was taken by the Superintendent of Police, Nanded. The operation was conducted under the directions of the city police commissioner, Sandeep Patil and guidance of city police deputy commissioners, Hanumantharaya and Laxmi Ganesh, as well as assistant commissioner of police, Srinivas Gowda.
