Initial investigations led authorities to suspect Gul Mohammad, who operated a shop in the same building as Chaudhary's beauty parlor and had prior acquaintance with her. According to Sardarpura police station officer Dilip Singh Rathod, witnesses reported that Anita was last seen getting into a rickshaw outside her shop. The rickshaw puller informed police that he dropped her off near Gul Mohammad’s residence. Upon visiting Mohammad's home, police discovered that his wife was unaware of Anita's fate, claiming she had been visiting her sister for three days.

However, she later revealed that her husband had confessed to her about killing Anita and burying her body behind their house. In a dramatic turn of events, police utilized a bulldozer to excavate a 12-foot hole behind the house, where they unearthed the dismembered remains of Anita Chaudhary. The community is now left reeling in disbelief, especially as the discovery coincided with the festive season of Diwali, traditionally a time of joy and celebration.

The police have since initiated a manhunt for Gul Mohammad, conducting raids at various locations across Jodhpur in hopes of apprehending him. The victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as investigations continue into this heinous crime. As the search for justice unfolds, the family and friends of Anita Chaudhary are left mourning the loss of a beloved member, questioning how such an atrocity could occur in their community.
