Chakan, Pune: Attempted Murder Shocks Local Community

Published on

In a shocking incident that unfolded in the Maujpur area of Kheda district, Chakan police have arrested two men, Shubham Bhagwat Paul and Pradeep Bhagwat Paul, in connection with an attempted murder case. The violent altercation stems from a seemingly innocent car ride that escalated dramatically, leaving a 19-year-old girl’s maternal uncle hospitalized. According to police reports, the situation began when Vilas Suresh Bhide, the victim, was riding a motorcycle with the girl’s sister, en route to their home.

As they approached the Mutkewadi signal, Shubham Paul confronted Vilas, questioning, "Is she your wife, why are you taking her out of the car?" What began as an inquiry quickly turned into a violent confrontation. After escalating tensions, Shubham reportedly called upon his accomplice, Pradeep. In a brutal attack, Pradeep struck Vilas on the head with a wooden stick, causing him to collapse.

Seizing the opportunity, Shubham then picked up the same stick and delivered a second, vicious blow to Vilas’s head, rendering him unconscious. Witnesses reported that the assailants fled the scene on Pradeep's motorcycle, leaving Vilas in a critical state. The 19-year-old girl, shaken by the attack on her maternal uncle, promptly lodged a complaint with local authorities.

The Chakan police have since registered a case of attempted murder and are actively investigating the incident. The local community is reeling from the shocking display of violence, prompting discussions on safety and the need for better conflict resolution measures.

This unsettling event serves as a grim reminder of the importance of community vigilance and support in addressing violent behavior. Further updates will follow as the police continue their inquiries.
