Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Health Ministry has reported a staggering death toll of 2,464 individuals due to Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon since the onset of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. The latest figures reveal that the number of injuries has surged to approximately 11,530. According to the ministry's statement on Sunday, a particularly deadly day occurred on Saturday, during which 16 people lost their lives and 59 others sustained injuries from the relentless Israeli attacks.
The South Governorate bore the brunt of the casualties, with 11 fatalities and 27 injuries reported. Meanwhile, five individuals were killed and 23 injured in the Nabatieh governorate, while additional reports indicated nine injuries in the Bekaa Valley. Since September 23, Israeli military forces have intensified airstrikes on Lebanon, marking a significant escalation in hostilities with Hezbollah.
The exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and the Israeli army along the Lebanon-Israel border have heightened tensions and raised fears of a broader conflict, particularly as the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel continues to unfold in the Gaza Strip. As the situation escalates, humanitarian concerns are mounting, with calls for ceasefires and increased aid for those affected by the violence. The international community watches closely as the crisis develops, hoping for a resolution that can bring peace to the region and prevent further loss of life.
