Emergency Landing of IAF Helicopter in Muzaffarpur; Bihar
Muzaffarpur, Bihar – In a dramatic turn of events, an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter made an emergency landing in a waterlogged area of Muzaffarpur district on afternoon due to a technical snag. The helicopter was returning from Darbhanga, where it had successfully air-dropped relief materials to assist flood-affected residents. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kumar, the helicopter encountered difficulties while flying over the Aurai block and was forced to land in a region inundated by recent rainfall.
Local residents quickly rushed to the scene to assist the crew, showcasing the community's readiness to help in times of crisis. District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen confirmed that all four occupants of the helicopter appeared to be safe and unharmed following the incident.
"However, as a precaution, they are being taken to a local hospital for check-up and treatment, if required," he added. While the emergency landing raised concerns, the prompt response from both the local community and officials ensured the safety of the IAF personnel. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the technical snag that led to the emergency landing.
As Bihar continues to grapple with the aftermath of flooding, the efforts of the IAF in delivering relief supplies remain critical. Community members hope for a swift resolution to any issues that may affect future relief operations.
