The city received heavy rainfall in the last week of July. Due to this, there was a flood situation in Pune and surrounding areas due to heavy discharge of water from dams. Due to this flood, water entered the houses of many people living near the Mutha River. Many cars were damaged.

The Pune district collector said, "We have requested the state government to give money to the flood victims and the distribution of relief will start in two-three days. Action will be taken against those who have not been penalised. No one will be left out. At present, the distribution of food kits is underway and it will be increased further.


Positive thinking is underway to provide relief of Rs 25,000 to the flood victims and a decision will be taken soon, "assured the Collector. Suhas Diwas was given to the flood victims.

Several parts of the city were waterlogged in the recent rains. The rally was organised by Republican Party of India (Athawale) in support of various demands of the flood victims. डॉ. Thousands of protesters marched from the Ambedkar statue to the Collector's office, Sinchan Bhawan and the Pune Municipal Corporation.

They demanded immediate assistance of Rs 25,000 to each family, immediate removal of encroachments leading to floods, re-designing of flood lines (Red Line, Blue Line), empowering the Emergency Management Committee (EMC) and creating alternative ways to discharge water.


Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale said, "We will reconsider the river improvement project.
A new red line and blue line will be added.
Steps have been taken to remove the encroachments on the drains and river beds and the water ways will be opened soon.
The work of laying underground pipeline up to Phursungi to stop water leakage from the canal will be done soon, "he assured.
