In view of the adding terrorist incidents in Jammu division, under the new strategy, now a squad of youth will be prepared in every vill. They will be appointed as Special Police Officers( SPOs) in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. They will be given munitions training which will help them fight terrorists at the original position.
On the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, at present further than 100 townlets have been linked where SPOs will be placed. The reclamation process of SPOs has been started in Doda, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch. 47 townlets in Poonch, 22- 22 in Rajouri and Reasi and 27 in Doda have been linked where SPOs will be stationed. The reclamation test will be held for the youth of the vill. still, it'll only be physical.
There's no provision for written test. These scholars will be given a yearly paycheck of Rs. The deployment of SPOs in Jammu division is targeted to be completed this month so that these youth can be trained and stationed at the foremost, the sources said After a series of terror incidents in Reasi, Doda and Kathua in June, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had directed a high- position meeting in Delhi to wipe out terrorism from Jammu division, sources said.
Under this, working on the policy of zero forbearance, a strategy was made for effective action against terrorists and their aides. It's believed that the deployment of SPOs in townlets in bellicosity- affected areas is part of this strategy. ADG Anand Jain said that strict action will be taken against those involved in terror conditioning. The security grid in the townlets will be further strengthened through SPOs.
