MUMBAI: In a significant upgrade aimed at improving passenger safety and comfort, newly designed Linke Hoffman Busch (LHB) coaches will be added to the Gandhidham-Nagercoil Express, which has been a vital service along India's west coast railway line for the past 32 years. The Gandhidham-Nagercoil Express, part of the Southern Railway sector, starts its journey from Gandhidham on the Western Railway and travels to Nagercoil station, covering a distance of 2,341 km across five states: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. The train's route includes stops at 55 stations, making it a lifeline for many commuters in the region, particularly in the Konkan area, with notable stops at Boisar, Vasai Road, Bhiwandi Road, Panvel, Mangaon, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, and Sawantwadi Road.

In a visual shift from tradition, the Gandhidham-Nagercoil Express will feature a striking red-grey color scheme, replacing the conventional blue.
