On 29-08-2024 we received a phone call from a Good Samaritan that a man was roaming near Guduvancheri, Chennai-Trichy highway in a pitiable state. Immediately our social worker Mr. Jacob with his team rushed to the spot and rescued him. He was brought to our Udavum Karangal Dignity Home and was given water and coffee followed by a haircut, shave and a bath. He was given new clothes and food. Later part of the day he was provided with Psychiatrist consultation & Medication, Master health check-up was also done, and was diagnosed as a mentally ill patient.
After taking the psychiatric medication regularly, he told his name as Munna Chaudhari and gave details of his native as Manpur, Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh – 484224 and the rest he is unable to remember. Mr. Srinivasa Rao, (863 740 8753) Social worker Udavum Karangal has a rich experience in restoring patients. Immediately he googled and contacted a shopkeeper in Munna’s native and that good Samaritan helped us to reach Munna’s family.
Munna’s family was very happy to hear the news of his well being in our home. His family consists of his parents, three brothers Munna is the eldest of all. He was married and has three children but due to his mental illness his wife was separated. His brother told that he still remembers that on one unfortunate day in the year 2017 as all the family members were busy with their daily chores, Munna slipped away. They searched for him frantically but all their efforts went in vain. The family members of Munna had also filed a FIR at the local police station; a missing case was booked.
Munna’s brothers MrKoushal PH no 7489735027 and Mr. Sanjay rushed to our Home on 06.09.2024 along with two police men from his native. It was a tearful reunion. Mr. MunnaChaudhari was restored to his brothers on 06.09.2024.
We advised his brothers to continue the psychiatric medication regularly and one month free medicine was also given. Both his brothers thanked Mr. S. Vidyaakar Founder UdavumKarangal& the Organisation for their humble work and restoring their brother to them.
