MUMBAI: An intensive cleanliness drive was carried out at various places in the administrative departments of the Municipal Corporation on Saturday. A total of 157 metric tones of garbage, 23 metric tones of waste and 74 metric tones of garbage were collected. Also, about 283 km of roads were cleaned.
An intensive cleanliness drive has been underway in Mumbai for the last 28 weeks. A regular cleanliness drive is being carried out in every administrative block every Saturday. Under this, an intensive cleanliness campaign was carried out with the participation of the public in all administrative departments on Saturday.
At that time, about 157 metric tones of garbage, 23 metric tones of waste and 74 metric tones of garbage were collected. Also, dust was removed by brushing about 283 km long roads. As many as 1,332 workers and staff, including JCBs, dumpers, compactors, garbage collection vehicles, water tankers, forex machines, misting machines and other state-of-the-art machinery, completed the drive.
Borabazar, Sir Ferozeshah Mehta Marg, Peri Nariman Marg, Nana Chowk, Taddeo Circle, Jawaji Dadaji Marg, Dhobighat, Sudam Kalu Ahire Marg, Shahunagar, Dharavi, Santacruz, Hanuman Hill area, slums and surrounding areas in ward 83 of K east division, Fisheries University Road at Vesave, Sunderwadi, Sakinaka in L division in K west division.
Cleanliness drive was carried out at Studio to Khairani Road, Sonapur Road in M East Division, Mahatma Gandhi Marg in P South Division, Swami Vivekanand Marg in P North Division, Link Road in Malad West Division, Akurli Marg in Kandivali East Division in R South Division, Dahisar West in R North Division, Amarkant Jha Marg in R Central Division, Brahma Vishnu Mahesh Marg, Shimpoli Marg, Malhar Rao Kulkarni Marg in T Division, Mulund in T Division.
