MUMBAI The Mumbai International Film Festival(MIFF), an important platform for filmmakers dealing with different subjects through short flicks, pictures, beyond the popular Hindi marketable flicks in Mumbai, will begin on Saturday, June 15. The jubilee, which will continue till June 21, will see 314 short flicks from 59 countries in 61 different languages. The jubilee will be held in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi.

The jubilee is being organised by the National Film Development Corporation(NFDC) and was blazoned at a press conference at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai on Friday. Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Sanjay Jaju and Managing Director, NFDC, Shri Prithul Kumar briefed the media about the jubilee.

Pointing out that the global profitable development of short flicks and pictures is around $1600 billion, Shri Sanjay Jaju said that this shows the strength of these film stripes which are leading in enlightenment and entertainment. piecemeal from this, the vitality and VFX assiduity has also expanded on a large scale and Indian animated characters like' Chhota Bheem',' Chacha Chaudhary' have come popular each over the world.

The award- winning short film' Sunflowers on the First to Know' by FTII scholars at Cannes will also be screened at the opening form of MIFF.
