The place where the terrorists are hiding has been set on fire. operation is in progress. An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district this morning. The security forces killed two terrorists in the incident. One of them was a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative.
Earlier in the day, there were reports that Lashkar commander Riyaz Dar was present at the encounter site. However, police are yet to identify the attackers. The process is ongoing. Kashmir Zone Police posted on social media that the encounter started on Monday morning in the Nihama area of Pulwama district. Police and security forces cordoned off the area.
As the cordon was tightened, the terrorists started firing. In retaliation, triggering a gunfight. Meanwhile, the house in which the terrorists were hiding caught fire. Two terrorists were killed in the incident.
Earlier, a large cache of arms, ammunition and war-like stores were recovered in a joint operation by Indian Army with Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara.
