On July 25, around 11 am, two-year-old Amod Thorve, a resident of Alandi, went out of the house to play with his child. But he did not return for long. After a search, he was found dead in the house. Hearing this, her family went into shock. (Pune Flood)

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. That's where the CPR (chest compression resuscitation)
was given. Then the heart begins to work. He was later shifted to Ankura hospital. (Pune Rains)


Amod was rushed to the emergency room on bag and tube ventilation at Ankura Hospital from Alandi. He was completely unconscious at the time. His heart function was also very weak and blood pressure was also low. He was immediately rushed to the hospital after he showed signs of cardiac arrest.

After four hours of continuous efforts, the entire team of doctors was able to save his life. During the entire process, a team of more than 30 doctors, nurses and other staff contributed to save the child's life.

The ventilator was removed within 18 hours. He was discharged after 36 hours as his brain or other organs were stable. Senior paediatrician and neonatologist Dr. Dr Umesh Vaidya, Dy. Chinmay Joshi, paediatrician Vishrut Joshi, neonatologist. Team Nikhil Jha successfully treated Amod.


"There is a need to create awareness about CPR during cardiac arrest. When the heart stops working.
The blood supply to vital organs stops, causing brain damage or death within a few minutes.

CPR helps with blood circulation and oxygenation until medical help arrives.
In a cardiac arrest, every second counts and CPR training can save a precious life, "he said.
