The Bund Garden police have registered a case against a jawan for trying to cheat a youth on the pretext of a job in the army. The operation was carried out by the Military Intelligence. Shatrughan Tiwari (26) The accused has been identified as Ganesh Kripa Chawl, Kalyan, Thane. The youth has lodged a police complaint in this regard.
The complainant lives in the Sinhagad area. The accused had circulated an advertisement on social media for recruitment in the Army. After reading the advertisement, the complainant came in contact with Tarun Tiwari. Tiwari demanded Rs three lakh from the youth. He was later admitted to Sassoon Hospital. As the complainant was suspicious, he did not pay the money.
Tiwari is a soldier in the army. He had left military service. He had advertised a job opportunity in the army on social media. The case was being investigated by the police.
Tiwari was found guilty of cheating. He has been arrested and a case has been registered at Bundgarden police station. Police sub-inspector Swapnil Lohar is investigating the case.
