Nowadays, everyone has to pay online. The payment is made by scanning the QR code. The manager of Alichi's restaurant in Kondhwa took out the QR code of the owner and replaced it with the QR code of his bank account and swindled Rs 3 lakh.

Monu Samual (34 years old) The accused has been identified as Aster Myra Society, Pisoli. Ahmed Ali (48 years old) He lodged a complaint with the Kondhwa police. The incident took place at Alichi's Irani Chai & Maska Undri in Undri between December 2023 and June 2024.

According to the police, Ahmed owns a restaurant in Undri. He went to Dubai. His brother was managing the restaurant at the time. He could not come to the regular restaurant for some time due to his eye operation. Monu Samuel was working as a manager. The QR code of Ahmed's bank was used to pay customers at the restaurant. Monu changed some of these QR codes and replaced them with QR codes of his various bank accounts. He used to ask some customers who came to the restaurant to pay through his QR code. When the online payment was made, it was going to Monu's account instead of Ahmed's account.

Monu had started demanding money from them saying that the business of the restaurant was not running. They checked the CCTV footage. In it, the question was how to actually reduce the price while the number of customers in the restaurant seemed to be good. When he asked some of the regular customers, they said that earlier the name of the restaurant used to come after paying online, now Monu's name comes. This was found out later after investigations. In the last few months, Monu has been found to have embezzled Rs 3 lakh. Police sub-inspector Amit Shete is investigating the case.
