Pune! Meteorological department issues alerts for heavy rains in 6 districts

Heavy rains have lashed the State for two consecutive days. Pune city has been witnessing incessant rains since this morning. The city of Pune has been flooded due to incessant rains.

There is a warning of heavy rain in Ghatmatha area along with Pune today.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan, Marathwada and Vidarbha. A red alert has been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Konkan region. An orange alert has also been issued for Pune and Satara districts of western Maharashtra.

There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kolhapur today. A red alert has been issued for all districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai.

Meteorologist Manikrao Khule has predicted heavy rains in the state in the next few days. Khule said that there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in the state till August 4.
