A transformer supplying power to Parvati Water Centre (PWC) malfunctioned, resulting in water supply to nearly half of the city. 5) It is broken. Due to the closure of the mountain water station, the army and the four-tier division were affected. It was expected to be repaired within two hours after the breakdown at 10 a.m., but the actual repair work began at 4 p.m.

After this, the power supply was restored and the municipal corporation changed the schedule in the afternoon and released water in the areas where the water was shut down from 10 am to 4 pm in the evening. Water was being supplied to all the affected areas till late in the night.


The capacity of the old and new stations of the Parvati Water Station is 610 MLD and about 150 MLD water is supplied from the Army Station. Water supply was disrupted in parts of central Petha, Shivdarshan, Aranyeshwar Vasahat, Shinde High School, Sahakar Nagar, Tavare Colony, Walvekarnagar, Gangadhar Mithaiwala area, Nav Maharashtra Society, Kondhwa, Aundh, Pashan, Shivajinagar, Deccan, Katraj and parts of Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Kharadi, Kondhwa, Wanavdi and Pune stations.
