Amaravathi — A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning when a Pallevelugu bus, traveling from Kadiri to Pulivendula, veered off course and plunged into a ravine on the outskirts of Pulivendula, leaving scores of passengers injured. According to eyewitness reports, the incident unfolded when the bus driver attempted to avoid a collision with oncoming vehicles near a dumping yard. In a bid to navigate the narrow road safely, the driver lost control of the bus, which subsequently struck a tree before tumbling into a 30-foot-deep ravine. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the injured passengers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Among those hurt, two individuals have been reported in critical condition, prompting urgent medical attention. Local authorities, including TDP MLC B Ramgopal Reddy and municipal chairperson Varaprasad, visited the hospital to meet with the injured passengers and assess the situation.
