Chinchwad, 23rd November 2024:In a stunning electoral showdown, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shankar Jagtap emerged victorious in the Chinchwad constituency, garnering an impressive 1.03 lakh votes over his opponent, Rahul Kalate from the Nationalist Congress Party - Sharad Pawar (NCP-SP). The election, once anticipated to be a closely contested battle, turned decisively in Jagtap's favor, signaling a significant shift in voter sentiment. Despite Kalate's campaign receiving strong endorsements from notable figures such as Shirur MP Dr. Amol Kolhe and veteran political leader Sharad Pawar, Jagtap's support from Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis proved instrumental in his triumph.
