Mumbai: In a significant leap towards modernizing travel in India, the ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is set to boost passenger comfort with the installation of 90 escalators across 12 key stations. These enhancements aim to ensure that the stations are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and information systems tailored to meet the needs of travelers. As the project progresses, the focus remains on creating a seamless travel experience for passengers.

Each station along the bullet train corridor will offer a range of modern amenities, including ticket facilities, waiting rooms, business-class lounges, nurseries, toilets, and information rooms. The bullet train route spans a remarkable 508 kilometers, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad while also extending infrastructure facilities to regions in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Diu-Daman. A total of 12 stations are being constructed as part of this initiative, with eight located in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra.

The stations include Bandra-Kurla Complex, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Baroda, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati. Construction work is currently underway, with an emphasis on speeding up processes to ensure timely completion. The first escalator has already been installed at Anand station, marking a milestone in the project. Of the total 90 escalators planned, 48 will be installed in the eight stations across Gujarat and 42 in the four stations in Maharashtra.

Officials from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) have highlighted that safety features are a priority in the installation of these escalators. Each escalator will come equipped with emergency stop buttons and handrails designed to provide immediate response capabilities in emergency situations, ensuring passenger safety and preventing accidents.

As work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project continues to gain momentum, the framework for five stations in Gujarat is nearing completion, while construction has commenced on three stations in Maharashtra. The foundation work for Boisar and Virar stations is also in progress, with innovative designs being implemented to create a modern travel experience. With these developments, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project promises to revolutionize travel in India, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency for passengers.
