Thane, Maharashtra – A disturbing incident involving the abuse and threats directed at a police officer has come to light, prompting a formal complaint and subsequent registration of a case at the Chitalsar Police Station. On Monday at approximately 2 a.m., Police Constable Sachin Rathod, 31, was diligently regulating traffic in the Hiranandani Meadows area of Vasant Vihar when he became embroiled in a confrontation with two individuals in a suspicious vehicle. Earlier that night, Rathod, along with his colleague Dattaji Jadhav, had received information from the police control room regarding two speeding cars on the Mumbai-Nashik highway.

During their patrol near Ravi Steel, they spotted a vehicle with a broken rear window and signaled for it to stop. However, instead of complying, the driver attempted to flee towards Ghodbunder Road, prompting Rathod to relay the information back to the control room and pursue the vehicle on a two-wheeler alongside a transport assistant. The chase led them to the Hiranandani Meadows area, where the suspect's vehicle eventually came to a halt. Upon approaching the car, Rathod's bike was deliberately struck by the driver.

In an alarming escalation, the driver verbally assaulted Rathod and his colleague, threatening to shoot them before fleeing the scene. In light of these events, Rathod promptly filed a complaint at the Chitalsar Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the culprits. Authorities are now investigating the incident, seeking to ensure the safety of their officers and the community at large.

This incident underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement personnel as they work to maintain public safety and order. The Thane police are committed to addressing such threats and will continue to protect both their officers and the citizens they serve.
