The political upheaval in Maharashtra, the ten-year-old BJP government at the Centre and the importance given to local issues led to a close contest in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. According to The Strelama, 46 per cent of the votes were cast for the Mahayuti and 45 per cent for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the state.
The Strelama, which has been working in the field of election strategy and surveys for the last six years and is known for accurate post-poll testing, tracked the trends of voters in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. The Strelama spoke to a total of 1,08,300 voters in all the constituencies of the state after the voting. The findings were published in The Strelama on Saturday.
According to the survey, 46 per cent of the voters in the state are in favour of the Mahayuti and 45 per cent are in favour of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The VBA got 3 per cent votes, independents 2 per cent and others 4 per cent. According to The Strelama exit poll, the Mahayuti will win 24 to 27 seats, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi will win 20 to 23 seats and an independent candidate will win one seat.
The party-wise data released by 'The Strelma' also showed that 17 candidates of the BJP, 7 of the Shiv Sena-Shinde group and 1 of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will win in the Mahayuti. According to the post-poll survey of 'The Strelama', in the Maha Vikas Aghadi, 6 candidates of the Congress, 6 of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and 10 of the Shiv Sena Thackeray faction will win.
According to 'The Strelama', an independent candidate, Vishal Patil, will win in one place in the state, that is, Sangli constituency. According to The Strelama exit poll, the BJP is leading in the state with the highest number of seats.
"The five-phase Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra were as much a test for the political parties as it was for the voters. Voter turnout has changed in every state. Local issues gained importance in this election and the Maha Vikas Aghadi tried to give the election a candidate-centric, emotional nature.
