The world famous Valley of Flowers will be opened for tourists from Saturday. At eight o'clock in the morning tourists will be sent to the valley. The Valley of Flowers is opened for tourists on 1st June every year. All preparations have been completed by the Nanda Devi National Park to send tourists to the valley.
Bibi Martolia, the DFO of Nanda Devi National Park, has also reached Ghangharia, the main stop of the yatra. From here there is a three-kilometer track to the Valley of Flowers. "The track leading to the valley has been improved,".
Many varieties of flowers have also started blooming in the valley. The first batch of tourists will be sent from Ghangharia at 8 am on Saturday. Last year, 13,161 tourists visited the valley. In view of the Chardham Yatra this year, the park administration is hopeful that tourists will also reach here in large numbers. Visitors arrive at 12: 00 p.m.
The Valley of Flowers is located in the high Himalayan region. There is no night stay here. Tourists have to return back to Ghangharia on the same day. From Ghangharia tourists are sent to the valley from 7 o'clock in the morning till 12 o'clock in the afternoon. They have to be back by 5:00pm. The fee has been fixed at Rs.200 per person for residents of India and Rs.800 per person for foreign tourists.
