Vinesh had then moved the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for a silver medal. Or the hearing on the petition has been completed. The results will be declared today (August 11).

Meanwhile, Vinesh Phogat's hopes of a silver medal have been raised after the CAS gave a verdict in a similar case. Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu has been given good news by the CAS. Anna would have lost in the gymnast's floor event. However, she was awarded a bronze medal. The court also annulled the bronze medal awarded to American gymnast Jordan Chiles. Jordan would have finished third and Anna would have finished fourth. Jordan will have to give her medal to Ana.

What exactly is the case about?
In the final round of the gymnast's floor event, Jordan placed third with a score of 13.766. He was third on the list. She was awarded a bronze medal. Anna would have been in fourth place with 13.700 points. However, Anna and the Romanian Olympic Committee approached the sports tribunal. Lavada then decides to give Ana the bronze medal. Anna would have claimed that Jordan had scored incorrectly. She finished in third place. Anna proved Jordan's lies to the tribunal. A long hearing was held in this case and finally the arbitrator ruled in favour of Anna.

Or after the hearing, CAS has reduced the merits of Jordan Chiles. According to CAS, Jordan would have scored 13.666 and Anna 13.700 in the final round. Jordan has fallen directly to the fifth position due to the lack of quality. Anna came in third place. Along with this, the court has announced a bronze medal for Anna. Anna would have been delighted with the court or the verdict. Meanwhile, Brazil's Rebecca Andrade won the gold medal in the gymnastics floor event, while USA's Simone Biles won the silver medal.
