Yerawada, Pune – A shocking incident of violence unfolded in the Ambedkar Housing Society on Monday afternoon, as a 60-year-old man reportedly threw hot oil on his 70-year-old brother-in-law and subsequently stabbed him in the back during a heated domestic dispute. The assailant has been identified as Gautam Namdev Kadam, a resident of the housing society, while the victim is Lakshmi Sudhakar Kadam.
The altercation is believed to have stemmed from longstanding tensions between the two neighbors. According to the police report, the incident occurred around 4 PM, shortly after a function at the nearby Ambedkar School. Witnesses say that after attendees returned home, an argument erupted between the two men. In a fit of rage, Gautam Kadam allegedly threw boiling oil at Lakshmi, inflicting severe burns, before stabbing him in the back.
Emergency services were immediately summoned, and the victim was rushed to a local hospital, where his condition is currently being assessed. The local police have launched an investigation into the matter, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, and a formal complaint has been filed by the Ambedkar Housing Society.
