Navi Mumbai: Property tax is an important source of revenue for the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). In view of this, planned action is being taken by the property tax department of the municipality to achieve the goal of property tax collection and the citizens have also been urged to pay property tax before March 31. The property tax payment centers are also working on holidays until March 31 and can be paid online from your home by visiting the website of the municipality.

The target for property tax collection is Rs 800 crore. The LiDAR survey has increased the focus on property tax collection and in the last financial year, the municipality had collected a record-breaking Rs 630 crore. Therefore, all eyes are on whether the Municipal Corporation will reach the target of collecting Rs 800 crore this year.

On February 29, 2024, the municipality will have to pay only 50 percent of the property tax and penalty due from March 21 to March 31, 2024 under the 'Property Tax Abhay Yojana'. A discount of 50 per cent is being offered.
