In a startling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a police operation aimed at arresting accused fraudster Akshat Goyal turned violent in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event, which was caught on CCTV, shows Assistant Police Inspector Praveen Swamy attempting to stop Goyal's escape when he was deliberately run over by the vehicle.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad police had dispatched a cyber team to apprehend Goyal, who is wanted in connection with a massive fraud case involving over Rs 1 crore. Reports indicate that the cyber team learned from another suspect, Mayank Goyal, that Akshat was hiding out in Jaipur. Upon arrival, officers set up a trap, surrounding the car in which Akshat was seated with companions.
In a desperate bid to evade capture, Akshat Goyal accelerated his car, striking Inspector Swamy, who had positioned himself to prevent the getaway. Swamy sustained injuries, notably leaving his feet numb, and has since filed charges against Goyal for attempted murder and obstruction of justice
