Pune: In a tragic incident, a youth was killed after being hit by a speeding car in Pune's Kalyaninagar area. In the accident both the drivers were killed. Pune is known as the hub of education. However, the incident has shaken the entire nation. Over the past few years, the culture of Pune city has been constantly coming to the fore and it is being attributed to the nightlife culture. Many drunken youths drive their vehicles at a high speed around midnight. That's why we have to face such unfortunate incidents. Immediate action needs to be taken on this. BJP's secretary Lahu Balwadkar has written a letter to senior police inspector Ajay Kulkarni of Chaturshringi police station in this regard.
There are many pubs and beer bars in Aundh, Baner and Balewadi areas due to drunk drivers, which can also pose a threat to the lives of the people in these areas. To prevent such incidents, action should be taken against the pub, bar and hotel drivers who are running late into the night to stop the nightlife culture in our area i.e. Baner Balewadi Aundh. In the middle of the night, many young people gather in the streets of the city. There is a need to increase police presence. Such a demand has also been made by Balwadkar.
Also, pubs in Aundh Baner Balewadi area start after 8 pm and continue till early morning. After that, many youths are indulging in drunken brawls in the name of the party. Therefore, pub, bar and hotel drivers should be given time restrictions to control this. The letter also demanded strict action against those driving recklessly at night.
There is also an issue of women's safety due to the nightlife going on in our area. Due to the night life, young girls are under the influence of drugs, they do not feel anything. Therefore, it is also necessary to take a serious look at the fact that many times young people are seen doing vulgar moves, dancing, wearing hats and driving crazy cars on the street. Strict action should be taken against all those involved in this accident and justice should be done to the deceased and their families. Balavadkar has also made a similar request.
Meanwhile, after Lahu Balavadkar gave a statement in this regard, the police inspector has also assured Lahu Balavadkar that immediate measures and strict action will be taken against him.
