Police have initiated targeted action to apprehend the perpetrator responsible for the murder of renowned journalist Nasrullah Gadani. In connection with this, law enforcement has detained three suspects from Kamal Lond village, where Gadani was shot and subsequently passed away last Friday.

The journalist, known for his bold journalism, worked for a Sindhi newspaper and shared his reports on various social media platforms. His fearless reporting against local feudal lords, political figures, and government officials earned him widespread recognition. The tragic incident occurred as Gadani was en route from his residence to Mirpur Mathelo Press Club when armed assailants in a car ambushed him on Jarwar Road near Deen Shah.

Following the attack, Gadani was rushed to Civil Hospital Mirpur Mathelo for emergency medical treatment before being referred to Rahim Yar Khan for surgery. The journalist community has expressed profound grief over Gadani's untimely demise and organized a joint protest in front of the Karachi Press Club to denounce his killing and condemn the actions of tribal chiefs and feudal lords.

The protest, led by the National Trade Union Federation (NTUF) and the Home-Based Women Workers Federation (HBWWF) among other social, political, and human rights organizations, called for the apprehension of Gadani's killers, as well as political and social activists involved in the incident. Furthermore, they urged authorities to safeguard journalists and media personnel by enforcing the Journalist Protection Act, and to cease harboring hostile elements within political parties.

The demonstrators also demanded the safe return of all missing individuals, including Farhad, and advocated for the registration of all media professionals with social security and pension institutions. They called upon the Sindh government to allocate funds to support Gadani's family, particularly his children.
