A team of the Crime Branch's Unit 5 of the city police has arrested a man who ran away after committing a murder (Abscond In Murder Case) at Sanaswadi under Shikrapur police station limits two years ago.
Dhanya alias Dhanraj Shantilal Sherawat (23 years) Festivus, Ta. The accused has been identified as Shirur. Dhanraj Sherawat is the grandson of Gopal Mahadev Ludkar. Sanaswadi) was murdered in 2022 in the Sanaswadi area. He thereafter had absconded. He kept calling the police. The unit 5 team got information that he had come near Amardham crematorium on Sanaswadi-Talegaon road.
Police arrested him. The operation was conducted under the directions of the city police commissioner, Sandeep Patil and guidance of city police deputy commissioners, Hanumantharaya and Laxmi Ganesh, under the leadership of assistant commissioner of police, Srinivas Gowda and participation of Bajpe police inspector, Parashiva Murthy, Suratkal police inspector, Ramakrishna K G, and other personnel.
