According to a report by Nasscom-Meta, 94 percent of tech MSMEs in India believe that artificial intelligence (AI) can boost business growth, with 87 percent expressing faith in its potential to enhance productivity. A white paper by Nasscom, supported by Meta, shows that approximately 72 percent of technology MSMEs prioritize the importance of AI training programs for their employees.

Meta, previously known as Facebook, collaborated with Nasscom to highlight the AI adoption progress of tech MSMEs in India. Sangeeta Gupta, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Nasscom, stated that for tech-enabled MSMEs to fully benefit from AI and for India to maximize its AI returns, it is crucial to have ecosystem collaboration and access to user-friendly tools and resources.

More precisely, 48 percent of participants approve of the possibilities of AI in content creation and marketing, 46 percent in customer interaction, and 68 percent in the creation of new products and services.

India, with its large number of developers and the third biggest startup ecosystem globally, will play a significant role in the AI revolution on a global scale. Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President (India) at Meta, stated that Meta is dedicated to establishing a supportive environment for MSMEs to succeed, and our collaboration with Nasscom aims to provide MSMEs with the essential resources and expertise to unleash the complete capabilities of AI.

The white paper also outlined major obstacles for tech MSMEs in utilizing AI for sustainable business growth. The paper identified a lack of awareness among 65 per cent of tech MSMEs, who struggle due to limited knowledge about available tools and resources. Additionally, 72 percent highlighted the importance of AI training programs.
