The Saudi Ministry of Education has sanctioned the academic schedule for the upcoming five years, affecting public, higher, technical, and vocational education in the Kingdom. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the academic year 2024-25 will introduce a three-term arrangement for public schools, incorporating an eight-week summer break.
The initial term is scheduled to commence on Sunday, August 18, 2024, followed by the second term on Sunday, November 17, 2024, and the third term on Sunday, March 2, 2025, ending on Thursday, June 26, 2025. The calendar designates holidays for National Day, autumn break, Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, and weekends.
The ministry will define the forthcoming education system, mandating a minimum of 180 school days for both two-term and three-term structures. While universities, technical colleges, and international schools have the liberty to devise their academic calendars, they must conform to a five-year endorsed timeline to enrich the educational experience.
